Sometimes I worry that I am seen as a far to serious individual who is incapable of having 'fun'

I would like to think that I'm fun but now that I think about it, I've never actually been told that I am a fun individual. Only that I'm a good man because I do the dishes and take out the trash in houses that don't belong to me. I am beginning to worry that I was born into the role of a housewife.

You are the author of the story of your life. AND you get to be the hero.

Which means, you can be whoever you choose to be.

The only thing that you were born into was... this world. (And maybe a hospital.)

I know some damn fine housewives - one of my best friends is a housewife - but, regardless, it's never how I've thought of you. For what it's worth.

Kind words from a guy who has a goodly chunk more life experience than myself.

I count myself blessed with the friends that I have. I just hope that I'm a fun guy sometimes. I noticed recently that I'm a rather domineering individual. I can only hope that this trait doesn't ruin what would otherwise be good relationships.

For what it's worth I've always thought of you as that comic book guy who looks like a stork. Also you write quite well. Was english your major?

There are people who follow and then there are people who lead.

The great leaders all start as domineering individuals. And the true leaders learn to help people lead themselves.

...that comic book guy who looks like a stork. :) That's me all right.

No... English was always my worst subject. (That and water polo. Blasted horses.)

I was a math whiz/physics nut as well as a melodramatic theatre actor. I left both behind to study Chinese medicine for three years before answering my true calling and getting a job as a computer geek with a bunch of lawyers and accountants.

Thank you so much for your praise of my writing. In truth, it continues to be quite the uphill struggle for me, but I am a (beaten/mistreated/abused) slave to it.

I am glad that you recognize the blessing of your friends. I only hope that you remember that your friends are in your company because of who you are and you are worthy of each and every one - including those friends who you have not met yet.

Hee hee, yes I was reading "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls" today at lunch. The main character mentions (when warning his newly wed wife about his affliction) that the writer is forever a slave to writing. A writer must forever have solitude and isolation for the torture that is writing.

In all seriousness though, I really do enjoy your semi-serious updates. You would probably garner some fans over at the Somethingawful forums.

Chinese medicine you say? My pops was always a big fan of holistic and the herbal remedies. I must say that I do enjoy a good pot of detox tea and the occasional acupuncture.
